BLESSED FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH

Anita and I were eating FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH at our favorite Mexican Restaurant in Newport Beach, Oregon—The Mazatlan. We noticed a family with three kids come in for lunch. They wanted to order from the lunch menu but they were ten minutes late and so they had to order from the expensive dinner menu. We felt sorry for them and asked the waitress to put their bill on our table. We then went and visited with them and learned that the parents worked as teachers in two different Christian Schools in Tucson, Arizona. One of the boys led in prayer over their food. We were so touched to see such a sweet family that after we left we returned and invited them to come to our home in Lincoln City on the ocean. The mother, Karen cried. They were delighted to do so! As it turned out they all spent the night with us and much of the next day. We played pool together, visited for hours, and they hiked and swam in the ocean. In such a short time we grew to love them as though they were our blood family. The mom and dad are Lonnie and Karen, and the boys are Caleb, Joshua and Aaron.
It turned out to be our most BLESSED FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH!!
