WE MISS OUR FRIENDS IN LINCOLN CITY, OREGON

On the day we left Lincoln City, Oregon, Anita had to say good-bye to her bird brain friends, and my little "Amigo" had to say good-bye to me. It was a very sad departure and we can't wait until we return!

GRAY WHALES BREACH NEAR MY BEACH!

I had one of the greatest experiences ever! At least a dozen gray whales swam by my house in Lincoln City, Oregon. The whales were migrating so close to the beach that I couldn't believe it! They were spouting right before where the breakers start coming into shore. For the first time in my life I watched a whale do a complete breach! It came out of the water and slowly made an arch dive like a porpoise. It sort of hung in the air for a moment before plunging down into the water again. It had to be one of the most incredible sights I have ever witnessed! I watched them out of my bedroom window for at least 20 minutes showing their heads, backs, or tails, before they left to the deeper ocean and out of sight. I thank God for allowing me to have this incredible experience once in my lifetime!!

Lonesome for our Oregon Cottage

We are on our way back to the best kept secret on the West Coast--Lincoln City, Oregon. I am not a professional photographer like my esteemed grandson, Mr. Christopher DeCaro, but when God Almighty provides a scene like this sunset over the ocean from our house's back balcony, any old dork can feel like they are a professional!

Elk

We saw the most incredible herds of elk east of Reedsport, Oregon. There were at least 3 herds with eighty or more elk in each herd! The bulls were next to the road. We never saw so many elk in one place and so close Awesome!!
